Situated in a lush rainforest environment, this eco-friendly lodge offers simply decorated cabanas. The lodge was set up in 2003 and is run by Rob, a British expat who has an in-depth knowledge about the rural Toledo district. Staying at the lodge you can fully immerse yourself in nature and participate in activities including bird watching, wildlife tours, hikes and cultural experiences. There is a large swimming pool, plus kayaks and rubber tubes for use on the river. There is a restaurant serving tasty local and international dishes for lunch (á la carte) and dinner (set menu).

Rooms
There are six comfortable thatched cabanas with an ensuite shower room, plus two newer hardwood cabanas with air conditioning and a kitchenette for families or longer stays. The main reception at the lodge has internet access and a telephone.

The Tanager Rainforest Lodge is a delightful property located on the Rio Grande in Toledo, just 30 minutes from Punta Gorda Airport.
