Rooms

Accommodation is in simple but characterful thatched rondavels or the more comfortable River and Safari Rooms, which have the feel of modern hotel rooms and are housed in separate two-tier blocks, featuring air conditioning and TVs.

The traditional rondavels are spread out across the grounds, close to the river. They have a simple design and offer air conditioning. River Rooms have a minimalist design with ethnic undertones. They feature an en suite with a shower, twin double beds, private patios and a shared riverside garden. Safari Rooms are more spacious and have an open-plan bathroom with a separate shower and bath. Individually decorated and airy, they have private patios looking down to the gardens and river below.

Location

The lodge is in the northeast of Chobe National Park on the banks of the Chobe River. It’s southwest of Kasane’s main town area and less than ten minutes from Kasane Airport. Situated close to the meeting point of the Botswanan, Namibian, Zambian and Zimbabwean borders, it makes a good base for visiting Victoria Falls and Caprivi, and it’s easily accessible from the Victoria Falls and Livingstone airports via road or charter flight transfers.

Food and drink

Either a full English or continental breakfast is served each morning, while light lunches are offered as a buffet or à la carte. Buffet dinners can include barbecues, stir-fries, Indian cuisine and vegetarian dishes alongside African flavors. There are two bars on site: Sedidu Bar, which offers wonderful sunset views, and Cocktail Bar, which overlooks Caprivi floodplains. For something special, you can enjoy a three-course buffet dinner aboard a boat along the Chobe River.

Facilities and activities

At the lodge there’s a pool, a beauty salon and Wi-Fi access. Boat cruises along the Chobe River can be taken throughout the day, allowing you to enter Chobe National Park and view the game from either a small cruise boat or a larger 40-seater vessel. The park is home to one of the largest concentrations of elephant in Africa, with around 50,000 elephant living in its boundaries. Game drives with a knowledgeable guide also allow you to explore the park.

Local excursions

Victoria Falls day trips can be arranged, as well as fishing trips along the river, sunset boat cruises and Namibian village walks to learn more about rural life in the region.
