Rooms

There are 393 rooms and 33 suites at the Laurier. Room categories include Fairmont rooms, Fairmont rooms with a view, which overlook Canada’s Parliament buildings and the Rideau Canal, and deluxe rooms, which offer more space with a sitting area. Rooms have a tasteful decor with neutral pastel tones and come with two double beds or one large double bed.

There are a number of different spacious suite types available. Some have an extra bedroom and separate living room, others benefit from a corner position for with more natural light.

Fairmont Gold rooms have a more exclusive feel, with their own floor and reception. Breakfast and Wi-Fi is complimentary for guests staying in these rooms.

Location

With a central location, the property is within walking distance of Parliament Hill, Ottawa’s various museums and galleries, and the renowned ByWard Market. It also overlooks the Rideau Canal on its south side.

Food and drink

The Laurier has two dining options. There’s the à la carte restaurant, Wilfred’s, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner using local ingredients where possible and has views over the Parliament buildings. Or, the sleek, modern lounge, Zoe’s, where you can enjoy afternoon tea as well as cocktails and light bites in the evening. 

Families

The hotel has a number of two-bedroom suites and some interconnecting rooms, which work well for families or larger groups. 

Facilities and activities

The property’s size and grandeur arguably makes it an attraction in itself. There’s a ballroom, a number of boutique shops to browse, and a health club complete with an Art Deco indoor pool and a gym. 

Accessibility

Eight of the rooms here are designed for wheelchair users or those who are less mobile. These feature lower light switches, support bars in the bathroom and wider doorways. 

Two wheelchairs are also available through the concierge but are on a first come, first served basis.
