The Kwa’lilas Hotel is located in the heart of the small town of Port Hardy with rooms that look out over either the mountains or ocean. This modern hotel boasts First Nation accents throughout, with masks and other artworks created by tribal artists.
The hotel opened in 2017 and all 85 rooms are spacious and airy, with a sleek modern design that lends an uncluttered serenity to the decor. The hotel has two on-site restaurants that serve lunch and dinner and offer a grab-and-go menu for breakfast. The small gift shop, next to the lobby, has a wide selection of carvings created by local artists as well as a selection of other gifts that pay tribute to the heritage of the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw people.
This is a great, modern, stylish hotel in contrast to the quiet, small town. The new building is full of character and color and is a pleasure to stay in. This hotel is a breath of fresh air and fits in perfectly with the small town with First Nation influences.
