Antumalal

Two kilometers outside Pucón, set in 52,609 square meters of landscaped garden and with its own private beach and dock, lies the hidden jewel that is the Antumalal hotel.

Created by a student of famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright in the Bauhaus style, the hotel's low slung, unashamedly 1960s design was very advanced for its time, and provided the inspiration for the renowned Explora hotel chain. The hotel's modern style and design are combined with cozy comfort and personalized service. It is still run by the Pollak family, who have managed it since the beginning.

The luxurious facilities include a spa with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, hydromassage pool and sauna as well as a tennis court. Excursions on foot, by boat, or on horseback can be organized for you by the exclusive guides.

Thanks to the hotel's vantage point atop a wooded point, each of the rooms and suites has a view of either Lake Villarrica or the gardens from its floor-to-ceiling windows, as do the restaurant, lounge and terrace. Each room has a private bathroom, walk in closet with digital safe, hair dryers, a telephone and a flat-screen TV. There are three chalets sleeping between four and six people, each with a private terrace, separate living/dining room, small kitchenette and lake views. There are also two Family suites sleeping four people and one Suite with king size bed, private living area and a library.

Quite rightly, the staff at Antumalal are very proud of their hotel, with the birdlife being a particular highlight. The beautifully kept and wonderfully mature gardens that surround the hotel are home to some amazing birds, with ibis and lapwings regularly sighted.
