Responsible Choice

We've hand-selected a range of tours and stays across the world that go above and beyond to be a force for good by supporting local businesses, educating staff, challenging local norms, or promoting conservation and biodiversity efforts. Your Responsible Choice helps increase the positive impact of your trip.

Stretched out at the foot of Torres del Paine National Park's eponymous granite towers and fronted by fluttering international flags, Las Torres was built to combine the authentic feel of a sheep shearing, cattle herding, horse riding estancia with a warm and comfortable hotel.

Over the years it has grown in size and has lost some of its intimacy, but this can't detract from its unbeatable location within this incredibly scenic park, backed by the looming massif.

OUR OPINION:

Las Torres is in a central location offering incredible views of Torres del Paine and an excellent range of excursions; making it stand out above some of the other mid-range options in the park. The guides are among the best in the area, meaning that you'll really get under the skin of this incredible national park.

Rooms

All guest rooms have en suite bathrooms, central heating, a closet, hair dryer and Wi-Fi. There are four categories of room, and while the two entry level rooms (Standard and Superior) are clean and comfortable, they're a little on the small side. We prefer the Superior Ciprés and Suite rooms, which are differentiated by having either a garden or mountain view. The Suite rooms are the most spacious and look directly onto the Paine Massif, which can make them a little dark. As you're out viewing the mountains all day, the Superior Ciprés with their garden views offer a light and airy place to stay and are very much worth considering.

Location

Las Torres enjoys a location that's hard to beat within the park, ideally located for all excursions on foot, horseback or by vehicle. The views of the Patagonian landscape are a huge reason people visit Torres del Paine, and the hotel is blessed with superb views from all sides.

Food and drink

The on-site restaurant offers a hearty selection of regional cuisine and meat and fish dishes, and there's also a bar serving drinks and snacks. If you aren't on a fully inclusive package, we do find meals can be expensive, although cheaper sandwich-type options are available from the bar. Nevertheless, you might want to consider taking the ten-minute walk to Refugio Torres, where a simple three-course meal will cost the same as a hamburger at Las Torres.

Facilities and activities

Around the property you'll find an organic garden, stables and an interactive museum informing guests about the location and its history. There's also a gift shop selling local arts and crafts.

Spa Facilities

There's a small spa offering massages and spa treatments to pamper you on your return from a challenging Patagonian outing.
