In my early 20s I moved from small town USA to small town Germany, and I quickly learned the life changing opportunities that came from stepping outside my comfort zone and stepping into new cultures.
Exploring Germany is a never-ending experience full of history, architecture and lively traditional festivals. Castles perched in the hillsides, gorgeous Rhine River landscapes and vineyards as far as the eye can see, makes Germany the perfect travel destination.
I first fell in love with Italy when my husband and I backpacked our way through the country, exploring Italy’s vast regions, phenomenal food and everchanging landscapes. Known as the world’s culinary capital, Modena balsamic vinegar, fresh pasta, and Amalfi Coast lemons are some of my favorite tastes in Italy.
As a European specialist, I'm eager to contribute to the lifelong value of travel and creating wanderlust, for we all have it.

What's the best local dish you've tasted?
Following a phenomenal truffle hunting tour in Italy, our wonderful host family used the truffles we found to make an incredible tasting menu to include truffle honey, truffle pasta and truffle ice cream along with several divine Chianti wines. The lunch included some of the best food that I’ve ever tasted and sparking my absolute love for truffles. I’ve never felt so immersed in the Italian culture with locals that left us feeling like family.
What's your most vivid travel moment?
While spending time in the beautiful town of Garmisch at the base of the Germany’s highest peak, the Zugspitze, I took an adventurous tandem paragliding trip. The experience began with a cable car up the Alpspitz mountain to the take-off hill where unbelievable views appeared. Once secured, I followed my pilot's command to run off the cliff's edge, allowing for the wind to catch our sails. This thrilling experience turned into a gentle and gorgeous float surrounded by the German-Austrian Alps with views of the Eibsee Lake. It was one of the most adventurous experiences that provided an unbelievable memory.
Where would you love to travel next?
Ischia, a volcanic island off the coast of Naples, offers thermal waters, beautiful coastal towns and fantastic food. If you enjoy smaller crowds and an authentic experience, this is a destination to consider. I love researching hidden gems and this is one that I am so excited to explore more.
