Roberto

Italy Specialist

I started exploring the world map when I was a child, and by the age of eight I’d memorized every capital, dreaming of traveling across the world.

I was born and raised in a small town in Sardinia surrounded by beautiful landscapes. As part of my education, I spent one year in the US. This was a life-changing experience that shaped my future and opened my mind and opportunities.

Since then, I’ve traveled to over 30 countries and I’ve lived in Italy, the US, Germany, Poland and in the UK. My passion for travel led me to work as a flight attendant before going back to university to get a master’s degree in Tourism Management. I soon realized that I wanted to help people create unforgettable memories through travel as a career.

As a native Italian, I am excited to share with you my in-depth knowledge of my country and its diverse regions.

What’s the one thing you always pack?

I always pack an international travel adaptor. Many times during my travels I’ve ended up needing an unexpected plug. In Italy, especially in older buildings, you can find different socket types, and a general European travel adaptor may not actually fit in the socket.

Cappadocia

Where would you love to travel next?

I’d like to travel to Turkey, more specifically to Cappadocia and experience a hot air balloon ride during sunrise, above the surreal rocky landscape. Being between two continents and having had many influences, Turkey is a country that offers a fascinating culture and, in my opinion, some of the best food in the world.

Your best piece of travel advice?

Despite loving google maps and being grateful for it, my top travel tip would be not to follow it blindly. By not relying so much on your phone, you will end up speaking to locals to ask for directions and suggestions and this will result into getting to know hidden gems that you would otherwise miss.
