Situated in the heart of Dijon, this imposing 19th-century building (built on the remains of a 15th-century building) puts you within strolling distance of the city’s medieval streets and museums. You’ll also be just a short drive from the source of Route des Grands Crus, Burgundy’s prestigious wine journey.

Rooms and suites are light-filled, characterful and cheery. The decor mixes classic with contemporary — modern, comfortable furniture, prints of historic artwork from the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Dijon, and punchy highlights of red, orange, or yellow.

Cuisine in the hotel restaurant also takes its cues from Burgundy, with the chefs perfecting a small menu showcasing the finest local produce in their seasonal dishes.

You’ll also find a stylish bar in the lobby, and a wellness area with hammam and hydromassage jets cocooned within the hotel’s vaulted stone cellar.

After a day exploring the sights of Dijon, there’s nothing I enjoy more than unwinding with a steaming hammam in the hotel’s subterranean spa, then being wowed by the Burgundian gastronomy — and, of course, fine wine.
