Family-owned and managed for over three generations, the characterful Killarney Royal has a warm, inviting atmosphere. The hotel is set in a striking building dating back to 1900 with attractive planting hanging from window boxes and on the balconies.

Upon arrival guests are greeted like old friends and offered the chance to unwind with a complimentary tea by the fireplace in the piano lounge. The intimate ambience carries through to the 32 individually-decorated guest rooms with their antique furnishings and plush fabrics.

Guests can enjoy traditional Irish dishes, whiskey tastings and afternoon tea in the lively Royal Bar & Bistro or the elegant Candle Room Restaurant. Both venues are popular with locals for their warm hospitality and exceptional cuisine.

Rooms

Individually designed with beautiful antique furnishings, plush feather duvets and locally-made blankets, guest rooms at the Killarney Royal are elegantly traditional in style. Each features complimentary Wi-Fi, plasma screen televisions and large marble bathrooms equipped with Irish, eco-friendly toiletries. Simple, whimsical touches include mini golf putters in every room. Neutral tones and uncluttered furnishing make the most of the space available in the royal rooms, while deluxe rooms and junior suites offer more generous sizing. Higher room categories also benefit from a separate bath and shower.

Location

Located on the scenic Ring of Kerry, the Killarney Royal is perfectly situated for exploring the picturesque town of Killarney with its brightly-painted pubs and boutiques. The heart of the town can be reached in a few minutes’ walk. Killarney National Park, Ireland's most famous, with its scenic lakeland and mountain scenery, is just five minutes away on foot.

Days begin with a hearty breakfast consisting of freshly squeezed juice, homemade pastries and an array of hot and cold dishes. Throughout the day, snacks, light meals and afternoon tea are available in the inviting lobby lounge. Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed in either the bustling Royal Bar & Bistro or the elegant Candle Room Restaurant. Popular with locals, both restaurants offer diverse meals made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The exceptional Irish cuisine is complimented by friendly and attentive service.

In addition to offering children's menus in their dining areas, families staying at the Killarney Royal have complete access to the children’s playground and family-fun Kids Klub at the nearby Malton Hotel.

Although there are no leisure facilities at the Killarney Royal, guests have full use of the well-equipped gym, indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room at the hotel’s sister property, The Malton Killarney a three-minute walk away. Complimentary access to the fitness studio is also available seven days a week.
