Rooms

Like the rest of the hotel, the guest rooms are contemporary but elegant and inviting. All rooms feature views of the extensive grounds and offer an array of modern conveniences including complimentary Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and 24-hour room service. Extra touches include in-room tea and coffee making facilities, heated, fog-resistant bathroom mirrors and underfloor heating in the bathrooms. Some Executive rooms have a balcony and one has an outdoor Jacuzzi.

Location

Set within parkland, the Newpark Hotel is a tranquil retreat located on the edge of medieval Kilkenny. The property is approximately a ten-minute drive or a half hour walk from the heart of town and the hotel staff can assist with arranging a taxi to the main attractions.

Food and drink

Scott’s Bar & Brasserie is a bustling restaurant furnished with dark woods and deep red banquettes and has a warm, welcoming ambience. For a more upscale dinner, Gulliver’s Restaurant has understated decor in muted tones and serves a modern Irish menu. The outdoor terrace offers casual dining with comfortable seating, plush throws, a retractable roof and fire pits and heaters.

Families

The Newpark Hotel caters well for families with young children. Children aged 4 to 12 can partake in the Krazy Kats Kids Club, which is open every weekend and over school breaks. Other activities include an outdoor playground with a zip-line, a go-kart track and a wildlife farm. Alternatively, children can search for fairies on the trail that winds through the grounds.
