Villa Spalletti Trivelli

Villa Spalletti Trivelli

Rome, Italy

The Villa Spalletti Trivelli is the beautifully converted private residence of the Spalletti Trivelli family, who still own and manage the property today. As their family house, the villa still contains many of their original furnishings, artwork and antiques and is an absolute joy to explore.

The drawing room includes an original Rubens and two huge Flemish tapestries while the library, recognized in its own right by the Italian Ministry of Culture, contains a selection from the family’s extensive book collection. The drinks cabinet in the drawing room is free for guests to enjoy as they wish and each evening complimentary snacks and Prosecco are on offer.

OUR OPINION:

A far cry from a traditional city hotel, the Villa Spalletti Trivelli really is an exceptional property where guests are invited to feel at home and relax among the family’s collection of art and antiques.

Rooms

The rooms at the Villa Spalletti Trivelli have their own character and feature a range of antique furniture and original design prints. Rooms range in size from smaller, romantic doubles up to extensive suite rooms which can be connected by a private sitting room. All rooms have been renovated with flat screen televisions, air conditioning, a minibar and safe. All the bathrooms feature a bath and separate shower. In the gardens, there are two suites which are great for families; each one has a private terrace, double bedroom, two bathrooms and a separate sitting room with a sofa bed.

Location

Despite its central location, just ten minutes from the Trevi Fountain, the Villa Spalletti Trivelli doesn’t give the impression of being in the heart of Rome. Tucked behind the presidential Quirinale Palace, you can enjoy the feeling of peace and seclusion while having Rome’s key sights right on your doorstep; both the Pantheon and Colosseum can be reached on foot in just 15 minutes.

Food and drink

Breakfast is an extensive continental buffet with an American style hot option available on request. In keeping with the private residence atmosphere, there is no designated restaurant but, during the day, guests can request meals to enjoy in the dining room or out on the terrace. There is also a range of excellent dining options just a short walk from the villa.

Facilities and activities

As well as a 24-hour reception and concierge service, the villa boasts an extensive modern spa and gym. Guests can enjoy the use of the huge 35 sq m sauna, Turkish bath and well-equipped relaxation and treatment rooms. The gym offers a good range of facilities and can be accessed throughout the day and night. Upstairs you'll find a beautiful roof terrace, complete with a Jacuzzi and sun loungers, perfect for relaxing during the heat of the day.
