Machangulo Beach Lodge

Machangulo Beach Lodge is nestled on a sand dune on the northernmost tip of the Santa Maria Peninsula across Maputo Bay. This friendly and welcoming lodge faces directly across from Inhaca Island and is surrounded by seemingly endless stretches of pristine white sandy beaches. The main lodge is made up of several communal areas over several levels. The property has a beach bar for light lunches and the Delagoa Lounge is where breakfasts and evening meals are served.

The safari-tent-style Ocean View rooms all link back to these main areas via wooden walkways and are spacious, with comfortable beds, seating areas, and inside and outside showers. There's also a spacious private deck with long views over the Indian Ocean.

For families, there are two-bedroom villas, each with their own pool located a little farther along the beach. The Beach Forest rooms are ideal for small groups and provide privacy and seclusion, with individual rooms sharing a pool and outside seating area.

Activities from the lodge are varied. You can snorkel from the beach or take a boat trip to Inhaca Island and enjoy the fantastic marine life of the peninsula. There are a range of coral reefs and diving is also possible, as is kayaking, paddleboarding and fishing. We recommend a leisurely stroll along the long beaches, a visit to the local village, and relaxing on the soft sandy beach directly in front of the lodge.

Please be aware that there are between 80-110 stairs between the rooms and the beach, so this property might not be suitable if you have mobility issues.
