Though its clean, contemporary design is shared with many other Scandinavian hotels, the decor here leans heavily toward dark, rich earth tones — coffee brown, burnished gold and royal purple. You’ll find tall windows that take advantage of the views. Standard rooms only have showers, while others have a shower or bathtub.

Hotel Havnekontoret boasts an exceptional location, on the outskirts of Bergen’s vibrant old town, Bryggen. You’re less than a ten-minute walk to the Fish Market and even closer to the waterfront pedestrian square. Additionally, it’s a short stroll to Fløibanen, the funicular railway that takes you to the top of Mount Fløyen.
