Rooms

The resort has many different choices of room. They are all in a traditional Omani village style with modern amenities including air-conditioning, free wireless internet, hair dryer, minibar and a private sun deck with sun loungers. 

They offer a spacious environment with bathrooms extending to an outdoor shower and each has their own private swimming pool. 

Some pool villas offer a private treatment room for an additional cost. On arrival you are allocated your own private butler that will look after you during your stay and your own bicycles to get around the resort.

Location

Backed by mountains, the resort sits on a little more than a kilometer and a half of secluded beach. You can choose to arrive along the dramatic road from the mountains, across the sea by speedboat, or for the really adventurous, you can paraglide into resort.

This is a remote hotel with little else in the vicinity, but everything you might want is onsite.

Food and drink

There are many alternative dining options available at Zighy Bay.

The main restaurant, Spice Market, offers breakfast and dinner with a variety of Middle Eastern, pan-Asian and continental dishes. 

Sense on the Edge, offers modern cuisine and signature cocktails. It is perched high atop the mountain overlooking Zighy Bay and really is a must. Please note this is not open in the summer months.

Summer House serves lunches and dinner with a bistro style menu.

Shua Shack offers a unique Bedouin dining experience twice a week and you can also enjoy dinner in the Wine Cellar.

The Zighy Bar overlooks the wadi and has a daily 'No Rush Hour'.

Families

There is a complimentary children's club at the resort for ages 4-12 that runs from 9am to 12pm, 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm.

There is also a teen club.

Facilities and activities

At the heart of the hotel is a large freshwater swimming pool overlooking rugged mountains, with umbrellas and deckchairs to relax in the sunshine. There are a range of poolside services including drinks, meals and light refreshments. There is also a unique 35 m Romanesque saltwater pool, under the shade of tall date palms, complete with a swim round island. 

The fantastic spa has two large Hammams, an ice cave and a vast menu of restorative spa treatments for guests to choose from. Daily sunrise yoga, an outdoor and indoor gym are great ways to keep active on vacation. 

There is the chance to turn your villa into a private cinema with outdoor screenings set up in the private gardens of your own pool villa. 

There are also a wide range of water activities with cruises round the bay on a traditional Dhow, kayaking, snorkeling, and yacht charters.

Environmental and social responsibility

Zighy Bay was built with a huge emphasis placed on environmental and social responsibility. They work by the four principles of refuse, reduce, reuse and recycle. This includes reducing emissions through the implementation of energy-efficient devices and reducing consumption of fresh water by generally raising awareness among hosts and guests. Products are sourced from environmentally and socially responsible suppliers and preference is given, wherever possible, to local, organic and fair trade suppliers. A percentage of the monthly revenue goes back into the local community.

Local excursions

The resort concierge offers guests the chance to make the most of the local area, from a sunset picnic on the rugged Sabatyn plateau to hiking across some of the nomadic trails on the Musandam coast. The historic town of Dibba with its majestic fort is within reach of the hotel for a cultural day trip.

Spa Facilities

The spa is designed in an Arabian style and feels really natural.

It offers a wide variety of treatments using Six Senses organic products and homemade Omani natural ingredients.

The Six Senses Signature Wrap and the Queen of Sheba are some of the treatments on offer.
