Rooms

The 16 rooms and suites, each named after different ostrich feathers, are housed in cottages within the grounds. Each has a charmingly rustic, farmhouse feel, featuring stable doors and tiled floors. The decor and furnishings are of high quality, made from local materials, with many rooms featuring antique furniture for a hint of colonial extravagance.

In addition to the Luxury room category, the property offers a spacious Honeymoon Suite and a grand Superior Suite, both with stand-alone bathtubs. There's also a two bedroom cottage featuring two bathrooms, two lounges and a kitchenette, which is ideal for families or groups of friends. This can be converted into two separate suites if required.

Location

The property is situated 15 kilometers outside Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo, which is famous for being the 'ostrich capital of the world'.

Food and drink

Dinners are home-style affairs, featuring an array of local South African specialities. The quality of the food is something La Plume is very proud of, and you can even try ostrich from the farm. A picnic basket can be prepared for you to take on your daytime activities if requested in advance.

Families

Families are very welcome at La Plume and can be comfortably accommodated in the two bedroom cottage. 

Facilities and activities

Nature walks, birdwatching, mountain biking or cycling can be arranged from the property. La Plume is also within easy access to hot springs, the ostrich capital of Oudtshoorn and several wine estates where you can sample the local produce. On site there's a large outdoor pool lined with sun loungers.
