Oceana Beach and Wildlife Reserve is located within a private expanse of pristine beaches and unspoiled nature near the town of Port Alfred, on the Eastern Cape. The main lodge is an elevated thatched building housing the comfortable lounge, the Great Room dining area and the pub with its extensive wine cellar. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a wraparound deck provide views over the dense foliage to the coast beyond.
There are ten rooms: three Lodge Suites in the main lodge, four detached Ocean Suites and three rooms in the Private Ocean House, a short walk from the main lodge. The Ocean Suites are designed for total privacy and the Ocean House is a good option for extended families. All the rooms have lavishly draped poster beds and spacious sitting areas. The en suite bathrooms are stylishly appointed with natural-stone tiles, sand-blasted glasswork, large bathtubs and separate walk-in showers with views.
Enjoy beauty treatments at the spa or relax at the natural split-level swimming pools. Go on a photo safari, a guided walking tour or a game drive to spot the elusive sable or black impala. Otherwise, head down to the coast for some scuba diving, surfing, whale watching, snorkeling and game fishing.
We love the Oceana Beach and Wildlife Reserve for its combination of luxe rooms, attentive service and ease of access to both the beach and the bush.
