The lodge owners, Gavin and Marion, offer a warm welcome and lots of advice about excursions in the area as Waterfront Lodge is ideally situated to explore the many attractions of the Garden Route with its beautiful beaches, forests and mountains.

A lovely lounge filled with natural light overlooks the lagoon, while the pool deck allows you to lie back and relax as you soak up the sun. Bicycles are also available for hire, enabling you to explore the locality at your leisure.

OUR OPINION:

This is an extremely friendly and homely guesthouse in a stunning location on the Knysna Lagoon. The owners have lived in Knysna for many years and are able to provide invaluable advice on the attractions and activities on the Garden Route.

Rooms

There are four room and suite categories to choose from, which differ in terms of size, their view and whether they are found on the ground floor or first floor. These include Standard Twin Bedded and Standard King Bedded rooms, Deluxe King Bedded rooms and Luxury King Bedded Suites. While simply decorated they offer every comfort, with most providing lovely views over the lagoon, which can be enjoyed from your own relaxing balcony or patio area. Amenities in each room include a minibar, cable TV and tea/coffee making facilities.

Location

Waterfront Lodge is on the edge of Knysna Lagoon in a peaceful neighborhood around a five-minute drive from the town center with its restaurants, bars and shops.

Food and drink

Breakfast is a leisurely affair, with both continental buffets and full English breakfasts offered. The property has its own pub serving a variety of beverages. For lunch and dinner you can venture into Knysna itself, where a number of restaurants and cafés can be found. There's also a barbecue on site should you wish to cook your own meal. 

Facilities and activities

The bright and airy lounge overlooks the lagoon, making an excellent place to relax and socialize. There's also a sauna and an outdoor pool with sun loungers, where you can sit back and look out for a variety of birdlife. Bicycles can be hired should you wish to explore the local area.
