Situated just steps from the sun-gilded sands of the beach, the Hotel Esplendido puts you right in the heart of Mallorca’s secluded Port de Sóller. The town’s vintage tram trundles right past the front door and along the lively promenade, while to the rear, the garden and heated pool provide a peaceful oasis to escape to.

Awash in ocean blues and greens, the hotel’s decor seamlessly blends traditional Spanish charm with contemporary Scandinavian flair for a fresh seaside feel. The rooms are spacious with quirky coastal-inspired decorative touches, all featuring views out over the garden or the sea.

The spa offers a range of rejuvenating treatments and there’s also a well-equipped fitness room. A Mediterranean bistro and modern pop-up restaurant with seating on the terrace give you a choice of on-site dining options, but you’re also only a few minutes’ walk from an array of other eateries. Chic lounges and a library provide spaces to relax, or you can enjoy a drink in the cocktail bar as the sun sets over the bay just outside the windows.

OUR OPINION:

We love how the Hotel Esplendido is so close to the beach, tram, and promenade with all its amenities, yet the pool and garden are so peaceful that all you can hear is the waves.

The majority benefit from either a terrace or a balcony, and they all offer views over the ocean or the verdant garden. Fully equipped with all the modern conveniences, they’re ideal for relaxing after a day exploring the town.

Location

Standing directly on the seafront promenade, the Hotel Esplendido has the beach on its doorstep. The historic tram that takes you to the old town of Sóller runs directly past the front entrance and you’re just a few minutes’ walk from the marina, a selection of shops, as well as numerous local cafés and restaurants.
