The Storchen offers visitors a chance to stay in a living piece of Zürich’s history. It was first recorded as an inn more than 650 years ago and takes its name from a legend that a pair of rare black storks nested on its roof. Black storks represent good luck, and a stork motif runs throughout the hotel’s decor.
Centrally located on the banks of the Limmat River, the light-pink building has easy access to Zürich’s shopping, entertainment and restaurants. It also features both classic and contemporary guest rooms, a chic bar, a Michelin-star restaurant and a leather-furnished cigar bar.
With 66 rooms, the Storchen is intimate and elegant and offers a high level of service. Amenities include a fitness room and a Venetian-inspired pier.
The Storchen is where we prefer to stay when we’re in Zürich. We love this fashionable property’s location on the Limmat River, and that it’s walking distance from the old town and the boutique shops along the Bahnhofstrasse.
