Sala Mae Nam restaurant, Anantara Resort Golden Triangle

Anantara Resort, Golden Triangle

The Golden Triangle, Thailand

From the hotel's hilltop location, you can gaze across the Mekong and Ruak Rivers, into the infamous Golden Triangle region, as it stretches deep into Laos and Myanmar.

The 77 rooms and suites are beautifully furnished with local materials, such as reconstituted teakwood, and all have balconies, many of which have views of the Mekong River. Other facilities include a beautiful infinity-edged swimming pool, a Thai and Italian restaurant, tennis and squash courts, fitness room, sauna and renowned spa.

The resort is also home to an elephant conservation project, looking after nearly 30 retired or formerly maltreated elephants, which you can visit during your stay.

Opposite the entrance to the resort is the Hall of Opium Museum, which is well worth a visit.
