The Beach Bar at the Setai

The Setai

Miami, The US

Ideally located on glamorous Collins Avenue, The Setai has an enviable beachfront position while managing to preserve a quiet and calm retreat for its guests.

The hotel’s elegant decor is tastefully interspersed with 1930s accents and modern twists, enhanced by Asian influences of dark woods, bronze fittings and plush furnishings.

OUR OPINION:

The Setai set the bar for us. The property enjoys a fantastic location and the rooms are large and well presented with great views over the city or ocean. With the wide choice of restaurants and bars onsite, guests rarely need to venture outside of the hotel and can truly unwind here.

Rooms

Rooms are graded in two categories: Ocean Suites and Art Deco Suites. The Ocean Suite studios are spacious and offer either a city or courtyard view along with a fantastic range of amenities including an espresso machine and a fully-stocked minibar. The Art Deco Suites prize themselves on being quieter and more secluded. The two bedroom suites with panoramic ocean views over Miami Beach are particularly special. Rates for these suites include airport transfers, complimentary breakfast and a 45-minute spa treatment and cocktails for one guest. All rooms include an en suite bathroom and Wi-Fi connection.

Location

While The Setai is located in the hub of downtown Miami Beach, guests can enjoy peace and quiet by the music-free pool and spa area. The hotel has private beachfront access, reserved solely for guest use. While there are three restaurants on site, guests can also walk further along Collins Avenue to sample its restaurants, bars and local attractions.

Food and drink

Refreshments are available at any time of day or night at The Setai. Guests can dine in the lobby and lounge area, sample local delicacies at the beachfront bar, or feast at the elegant, Asian-inspired Jaya restaurant which creates exquisite dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, India, China and Japan. The Setai is also launching a solar-powered food truck on their private beach.

Families

The Setai tends to attract an adult clientele looking for a secluded stay with the option of downtown nearby. There aren’t many children’s activities and the pool is purposed for relaxation, rather than play. The direct beach access is one of the main draws for families, but do be prepared for sophisticated diners and large groups of young professionals in the bar and lounge area.

Honeymooners

The elegance and seclusion of The Setai make for a romantic setting. Add to that candlelit dinners on the beach, culinary masterpieces, and an impressive spa area, and you have one of the most suitable properties in Miami for honeymooners.

Facilities and activities

Guests have the choice of three outdoor pools, each heated to a different temperature, as well as a spa and fitness room. The Valmont Spa offers four treatment rooms, with the possibility of private in room treatments. The spa focuses on treatments and products inspired by four different types of tea and the Japanese tea preparation ceremony.
