Rooms

The Fairmont Sonoma features a number of room and suite categories, which differ in size and facilities. These include the Fairmont room, Fairmont Alcove, Deluxe Fireplace, Deluxe, Wine Country Junior Suite, Fairmont Suite, Mission Suite and Signature One Bedroom Suite. Each and every room includes a smart, modern bathroom and a good range of amenities, including a TV, telephone, minibar and air conditioning.

Location

The Fairmont is positioned on the outskirts of the pretty town of Sonoma, next to the Sonoma Golf Club. It's sandwiched between many excellent vineyards, where you may be tempted to sample a variety of Californian wines. The hotel’s location has been dictated by the hot springs, which allow the spa to feature special mineral baths.

Food and drink

The on site restaurant choice is superb, with five dining options for guests to choose from. The most impressive is the Michelin starred Santé restaurant, with the chefs serving locally-sourced and inspired tasting menus that vary seasonally. The Big 3 restaurant is a more casual bistro with traditional American breakfasts and dinners. The 38º is a wine-centric restaurant option, featuring over 50 wines and small plates of food to pair with each glass. Guests can enjoy pool side food from the Water Tower café, with simple sandwiches and salads on offer daily. An in-room dining menu is also available.

Please note that the nearby restaurants tend to close early, so you may need to plan for an early supper, or drive or take a taxi to Sonoma.

Facilities and activities

The sprawling Fairmont Sonoma has a host of superb facilities, ranging from the championship golf course to the swimming pool and natural hot spring spa. The natural mineral hot springs are the centerpiece of the hotel and make the perfect place to relax in. There are daily complimentary hike and bike adventures, and guests are invited for daily afternoon wine tasting.

There are 55 vineyards open to the public within the Sonoma Valley region alone, with some of our favorites being Gundlach Bundschu, Buena Vista Carneros and Ram's Gate Winery.
