Lake McDonald, Glacier National Park

In the western part of Montana, grizzly bears lumber through dense pines, mountain goats clamber over the Rockies and thousands of lakes reflect the state’s namesake Big Sky. To the east, the prairie unfurls like a gently rumpled blanket, dotted with bison. Amid all this oversized grandeur, you can also find quirky cities like Bozeman and Missoula, Wild West history and a rich heritage of American Indian cultures.

So they can build a trip tailored to you, our specialists have explored the state and its national parks many times. They’ve climbed Rising Wolf Mountain and driven along the Going to the Sun Road to find the best views. They’ve also ridden horses and hiked through the portion of Yellowstone that sprawls out of Wyoming into Montana.

In Glacier National Park, you might hike along the Highline Trail, ride on a vintage red bus or follow a private guide into the quieter corners of the park to spot wildlife. Climb into an open-top 4x4 to explore Clarks Fork Canyon or visit the Little Bighorn Battlefield, where the Lakota and Cheyenne people fought against westward expansion.
