One of the few wooden boats operating a continuous three day exploration of Halong and Bai Tu Long bays, the Paradise Prestige junk has 15 elegant cabins and an itinerary that takes in a variety of islands, beaches, caves and villages en route.

The intimate design and refined decor onboard is reminiscent of a classically-styled hotel. The cabins are compact but comfortable and well equipped and some have a private balcony or terrace. There is a good restaurant serving traditional Vietnamese and Asian dishes as well as international choices, and all food and drinks are included. Routes

The cruise starts at the Paradise Marina on Tuan Chau Island 160km (99 miles) from Hanoi. Over the course of three days and two nights it sails between islands, beaches, caves and villages and through the karst limestone outcrops on a leisurely itinerary.
