Learn about the history of Venice’s vibrant and elaborate masks and try your hand at making your own with materials such as brocade edging and bright acrylic paints.
Explore Venice as it was meant to be seen, from the water. This two-hour orientation tour with a private guide, by water taxi, is a wonderful way to view the city’s major waterways from the Grand Canal and St Mark’s Basin through to the smaller canals that wind their way through the different districts of the city. During the tour you’ll be able to enjoy excellent views of the city including sites like the Arsenale, Giudecca Island, St Mark’s Square and of course the wonderful palazzo-fronted Grand Canal. You’ll also get the opportunity to venture a little further out for views of the lagoon and outlying islands.
This is a superb tour that gives a perfect overview of the city’s key sites and hidden waterways while allowing you to relax in comfort on your own private boat. At the end of the tour, you will have the option to either return to your hotel or be dropped elsewhere to explore. Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby and escort you to your water-taxi. Please make sure you arrive at least five minutes before your scheduled departure as the water-taxi may not be able to wait on the dock. Your guide and driver will tailor the exact route of your tour depending on the location of your hotel.
