Masseria Torre Maizza

Masseria Torre Maizza

Fasano, Italy

Situated between the town of Fasano and the Adriatic Sea, Masseria Torre Maizza is one of the most luxurious and stylish properties in the area. With just 40 rooms, the property manages to be large enough to provide ample facilities and activities, while also maintaining the atmosphere of an exclusive boutique hotel.

Perhaps the most alluring of the activities on offer at Torre Maizza are the spacious outdoor pool surrounded by plenty of loungers and the hotel's own nine hole golf course. A private beach club allows guests to swim in the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea while taking advantage of plush loungers and a beach restaurant and bar. However, it doesn’t stop with these; there are myriad activities on offer catering to all interests, from a luxurious Aveda spa, to traditional cooking classes, hiking, and horseback riding. Guests especially appreciate the remarkable views from the sunset terrace where an evening drink can be enjoyed with expansive views over the Pugliese countryside and the town of Fasano.

OUR OPINION:

With plenty of style and facilities, we especially like Masseria Torre Maizza for those seeking a relaxing break in a comfortable, countryside setting, with easy access to both a town and the beach.

Rooms

The 40 rooms of the Masseria Torre Maizza all take a luxurious and classy twist on traditional Pugliese masseria style. Cool stone tile floors and whitewashed walls, not to mention the views over the centuries-old olive groves, all emphasize the historic legacy of the property. Yet plush pillows, buttery smooth linens, and spacious modern bathrooms set the accommodation squarely in modern comfort and style. Rooms are located in several traditional buildings around the main masseria, meaning most rooms have a balcony or terrace to enjoy some time outdoors, and high vaulted ceilings create bright, airy interiors. All rooms are equipped with TVs and Wi-Fi.

Location

Masseria Torre Maizza is located in the countryside between the town of Fasano and the coast. Central Fasano, where there is a small selection of shops and restaurants, can be reached in five to ten minutes by car. The hotel’s private beach club is connected to the property by a shuttle which takes about ten minutes.

Food and drink

Three restaurants serve guests in various locations throughout different times of the day. The main restaurant, Le Palme, serves traditional, locally sourced (much of it comes from the property’s own gardens) Pugliese cuisine in an airy dining room that was once the property’s stables. In fair weather meals can also be enjoyed alfresco out on the terrace. There is also a poolside restaurant as well as a seafood restaurant at the beach club. A cheerful bar serves drinks around a fire.

Families

While children are welcome at the hotel, only those over 10 are allowed in August. The style, facilities and activities of the hotel’s sister property Masseria Torre Coccaro are better suited to those looking to entertain younger members of the family.

Facilities and activities

There are facilities and activities on offer to cater to both those seeking full relaxation as well as guests looking to keep busy. For more active days, the hotel has its own nine hole golf course, a large pool, hiking and horseback riding opportunities. Those looking to relax and soak up the sun will appreciate the private beach club nearby and the Aveda spa.
