An intimate boutique on Rotterdam’s waterfront, the Suite Hotel Pincoffs combines personal service with an excellent location. The hotel is housed in an old customs building, now a national monument, that has a chic and stylish feel. Off the welcoming lobby is a lounge, where you’ll find a wood stove, comfortable leather sofas, a piano in the corner and a small bar. Off the opposite side of the lobby is a small library with books, armchairs and a computer.
The hotel is named for Lodewijk Pincoffs, a controversial businessman who was an integral part of making Rotterdam what it is today — he founded the group that funded the project that built Rotterdam’s well-known ports. However, he eventually fell from the city’s graces when his fraudulent business methods were discovered, and he fled to the United States. He was eventually accepted for his contributions to the city and his name is still infamous around town today.
There are only 17 rooms in the hotel, all of which feature clean, chic designs.
We love this hotel for its intimate number of rooms and personal service, as well as its nod to Rotterdam’s historical side.

Rooms
There are 17 rooms and suites in the hotel, divided among five categories. The Comfort rooms are the smallest, but feature interesting details from the building’s historic past, such as original wood beams and uneven ceilings. The Mezzanine rooms are quite spacious with large windows and split between two levels. The DeLuxe rooms offer views of the old docks, bridges and river. The top floor rooms in this category feature original wood beams, while the lower floor has high ceilings and lots of natural light.
There are two types of Junior suites, one split between two floors and the other on the top floor under the roof structure, with plenty of history architectural details. The Suite XL rooms boast either a bath and fireplace or a steam cabin and a bath. The Corner suite has a whirlpool and a view out over the river.
All the rooms come with en suite bathrooms, Wi-Fi and air conditioning, and some rooms have balconies.
