Responsible Choice
This remarkable semi-permanent camp is fully led by a team of female staff. Regularly heard laughing, singing, and telling stories around the campfire, the team offer a homely experience at Dunia Camp. The rustic, classic safari style of the mess tent only serves to heighten the community of Dunia, relax into one of the armchairs and take in the surroundings.
The camp occupies a prime location to watch the wildebeest migration on the plains, with a variety of other curious wildlife passing by each day. Each spacious suite also has its own private veranda with panoramic views of the Serengeti.
Passionate guides lead twice-daily safari drives, where you will have the opportunity to look out for big cats, elephant and you may even glimpse an elusive pack of wild dogs. Hot-air balloon rides can also be organised from Dunia, please speak to your specialist if this is something you would be interested in.
The service is thoughtful, the tents are airy and elegant, and the proximity to wildlife is apparent by the sounds of buffalo and lion passing through camp at night.

Rooms
The camp itself consists of eight large guest tents plus the mess/dining area and a fireplace. Each spacious guest tent is decorated in a cozy safari style and has a comfortable king size bed (twins possible) and a large, private veranda, overlooking the Serengeti. The en suite bathrooms have flush toilets, double sinks and traditional safari bucket showers.
Location
Dunia Camp is located just north of the Moru Kopjes area, a spectacular, lesser visited region of the Serengeti. Tucked between the central Seronera valley and the southern Serengeti plains (Ndutu area), the camp's position is carefully chosen to allow for excellent game and migration viewing in all three areas, whilst staying away from the busier parts of the park.
Food and drink
Guests are spoilt for choice from breakfast through to dinner. Everything is homemade in the camp’s kitchen, where the chefs try to source as many ingredients as they can from local communities. Breakfast is served with views of the Serengeti, and on return from game drives, guests enjoy light lunches (or take a packed lunch for a full-day in the bush). Dinner can be taken in camp, where no detail is missed, or a special bush dinner may be arranged.
Facilities and activities
Activities include (open and closed vehicle) game driving and birdwatching, picnics, watching nature and wildlife from camp. Walking safaris are not possible due to Dunia Camp's location inside Serengeti National Park. Guests may also opt to arrange a hot air balloon safari over the plains.
Environmental and social responsibility
Dunia Camp is designed to leave nothing behind, and has no permanent structures, so as to preserve the wilderness surroundings. The small team also work closely with local park rangers to avoid poaching and share animal sightings, particularly those of the endangered black rhino. The camp is officially recognized by Responsible Tourism Tanzania and Fair Trade Tourism for their commitment to sustainability.
