Overlooking the Yukon River and the historic White Pass railway, the Edgewater Hotel is a family-owned boutique property offering one of the best locations in town. A large-scale renovation has left the hotel with a sleek, contemporary atmosphere to complement the excellent service. Comfortable, spacious rooms offer an excellent base in the city, many with views of the Yukon River. In the evening, immerse yourself in tastes of the Yukon at the on site restaurant.

OUR OPINION:

While the outside of this hotel might be unassuming, inside is fresh, comfortable and feels newly finished. We also think the restaurant is a great option in the city.

Rooms

Each of the rooms has a fresh, stylish feeling to it with neutral tones, indigenous artwork, large beds and windows. All bathrooms are specious and feature the usual amenities. The suites have additional living space and views over the Yukon River. Some also feature kitchens for a more laid back dining experience. All rooms are equipped with a coffee machine and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Location

The hotel lies, as the name suggests, on the edge of the water of the Yukon River. It's within a few minutes' walk of the shops and restaurants of Whitehorse, and the Yukon Visitor Reception Centre. A short walk along the riverfront also leads to the SS Klondike Historic Site. Complimentary parking is available.

Food and drink

The hotel is home to a restaurant offering elevated comfort food paired with an impressive wine list. The majority of the menu features local meats like bison and elk, but there's also sumptuous seafood from the coastline and rivers. Whitehorse's restaurants are also just a short walk away.
