L'Hôtel Particulier

L’Hôtel Particulier

Bordeaux, France

The 19th-century townhouse in which L’Hôtel Particulier is set may be grand and imposing but the atmosphere here is far more like a family home with a laid-back character and plenty of comfy corners in which to relax. The hotel is located in the heart of Bordeaux, with Saint-André Cathedral a one-minute walk away, so it’s extremely convenient for visitors wanting to explore on foot.

Inside, the hotel has a distinctive style and combines original features such as large wooden doors, arched stone windows and a classic wire-cage elevator with contemporary styling. Many rooms and suites combine elaborate fireplaces, enormous mirrors and decorative plasterwork with contemporary furnishings and plush fabrics. There’s also a choice of modern studios and a family apartment that sleep four, all of which have small kitchenettes.

A homemade breakfast with eggs cooked to order as well as fresh pastries is served in a large, bright room every morning. While there’s no on-site restaurant, there are dozens of dining options within walking distance of the hotel.

OUR OPINION:

We love L’Hôtel Particulier for its exceptional location near Bordeaux’s main sights and restaurants, and for its spacious rooms.

Rooms

Divided between guest rooms, studios and suites, the rooms are all quite spacious and have lots of natural light from large windows. Rooms are decorated with modern elegance in their furnishings while retaining the integrity of the original building, with its vaulted ceilings and wood floors. The studios are a handy option for those looking to have the independence that a small kitchenette brings. All rooms offer air conditioning and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Location

Just a one-minute walk from Saint-André Cathedral and a five-minute walk from the main shopping streets and the pedestrian quarter, L’Hôtel Particulier is conveniently located for exploring Bordeaux on foot. Additionally, there are a number of restaurants, bars and small shops nearby.

Food and drink

A made-to-order breakfast of bacon, eggs, pastries, fruit, yoghurt and other cold dishes is served in the hotel’s second-storey dining area. Although there’s no restaurant for evening meals, there are scores of dining options nearby and staff can recommend the most suitable options depending on your preferences.
