Mount Rinjani National Park is located in northwest Lombok. The peak, Indonesia's second highest at 3,726 metres high dominates the landscape. The locals consider this huge expanse of land as sacred.
From the heights of Rinjani looking east lies Lombok's neighbouring Island; Sumbawa. To the west the panorama encapsulates Lombok's three Gili Islands which you can see on a clear day as well as Gunung Agung on Bali.
The area here is simply breathtaking, taking in small villages, tropical rainforest, waterfalls and highland scenery.
