The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower

Mumbai, India

The flagship property of the IHCL group, The Taj Mahal Palace boasts the most celebrated address in Mumbai. Built over a century ago, it has become a favorite of many Indian Maharajas, visiting dignitaries and film stars over the years due to its comfortable, well-appointed accommodation and excellent location.

The old Palace Wing, built in 1903, is full of period charm and old-world splendor mixed with modern amenities, while the adjoining Tower Wing, designed by the renowned American architect Melton Bekker, offers rooms that blend contemporary European and Indian styles. The hotel’s public areas are decorated with antiques, silk carpets, crystal chandeliers, paintings and contemporary art, while views over the Gateway of India, the Arabian Sea and city rooftops can be enjoyed from many of the rooms.

OUR OPINION:

This is one of the best-known five-star hotels in the world. It lives up to its reputation as a fantastic place to stay, and sits in a great location, at the heart of southern Mumbai.
