Villa Beccaris

Villa Beccaris

Piedmont, Italy

Located on top of a hill in Monforte D’Alba, the 18th-century Villa Beccaris offers views of the Alps, the Barolo hills and undulating vineyard landscapes from most of its guest rooms. Mature trees and gardens offer shady nooks and the terracotta-tiled roofs and ocher walls are classically Italian.

Inside, the ground floor resembles that of a notable historic family with a relaxing lounge, bar and enoteca on the ground level. Upstairs, the 23 rooms are all individually styled in a traditional fashion with antique furniture, bright rugs and frescoed ceilings but also fitted with air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi and modern bathrooms.

The highlight of the property is the wrought-iron breakfast room with its floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Piedmontese countryside. During summer months, breakfast is served in the outdoor seating area. The hotel does not have a restaurant but there are several dining options available within a five-minute walk.

There’s an outdoor swimming pool in the garden with an ancient cedar tree at its edge, parkland to explore, and options for longer walks into the heart of the Barolo and Barbaresco wine regions.

OUR OPINION:

A wonderful option in the Piedmont countryside, Villa Beccaris is a charming and friendly property. We found the breakfast room with views over the Piedmont countryside to be a highlight of this hotel.
