The OMO5 Sanjo by Hoshino Resorts is the epitome of what you would expect from the economy brand of one of Japan’s most high-end hotel chains.

This is a comfortable and modern no fuss option that will provide guests with a clean and comfortable place to stay, but the excellent location allows you to spend your time on experiences that get you out and about in the city. Rare for Japan, the entire property is non-smoking.

The OMO5 has a dynamic, young feel to it. It's refreshing for the hotel scene in Kyoto and delivers exceptional value.

Rooms

As is typical with the design of all OMO brand properties throughout Japan, the rooms are very simple and sleek. They aren't the largest rooms in the city, but they are well-fitted to maximize space thanks to their minimalist design. For larger groups, there are quads available as well as the superior room which caters for up to three guests.

Location

The OMO5 is located in Sanjo in the heart of Kyoto’s downtown. Surrounded by shopping arcades, bars and restaurants, and with access to Kyoto’s city buses, Kyoto Shiyakusho Mae Station, Sanjo Keihan and Sanjo Station, it’s a great spot in the city to return to at night.

The hotel has a café onsite where breakfast is served as well as snacks and drinks throughout the day.

There is a quad room available, which might best suit those staying with children.

  • Go-KINJO map and activities. The property runs a service of local guides operating in the area. It allows guests to gain a deeper understanding of the Sanjo part of the city through smaller, intimate tours operated by the OMO5 Kyoto Sanjo.
