Flåmsbrygga Hotel

The Norwegian fjords, Norway

Located on the waterfront just steps from the renowned Flåm railway, Flåmsbrygga Hotel offers a comfortable base for exploring the fjords. This brewery hotel, which sprawls across three buildings, boasts a modern Norwegian style with natural materials like pine, driftwood, stone and glass. The decor in the 34 rooms is warm gray, bright yellow and light wood, and features floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views overlooking the water.

The hotel is committed to sustainability, with eco-friendly features throughout, including energy-efficient light bulbs and laundry services. There are three restaurants in the hotel, including the Ægir BrewPub, a brew pub with a casual atmosphere.

Rooms

Like the rest of the hotel, the 34 rooms embody a modern-yet-rustic Norwegian style, with a focus on natural materials. In all the rooms, you’ll find wood floors and walls, tartan wool throws and comfortable furniture in warm, masculine maroons and blues. Most rooms have a balcony and they all have floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook either the port or the fjord.

Location

The hotel is perched on the waterfront in Flåm, a busy port that makes an excellent base for exploring the fjords on Norway’s west coast. It’s a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Bergen and just a short walk from the Flåm railway station, which marks the end of the scenic Myrdal train line.

Food and drink

  • Flåmstova Restaurant serves an elegant breakfast buffet and à la carte dinner year-round and a lunch buffet in summer.
  • Furukroa Café offers traditional Norwegian food and light dishes.
  • BrewPub offers an à la carte pub dinner year round, with a lunch menu during summer.
