Hotel NH Madrid Nacional

Madrid, Spain

Directly across from the Real Jardín Botánico and just steps away from Madrid’s main Atocha station, the Hotel NH Madrid Nacional is conveniently located for exploring the city. Just around the corner you’ll find the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, and a five-minute walk up the Paseo del Prado will bring you to the Museo del Prado and El Retiro Park.

The building dates back to the 1920s and boasts a cavernous marble lobby and grand original staircase. Upstairs, the corridors are lined with black-and-white historical photos of Madrid while the rooms are contemporary in style with pared-back minimalist decor with bright feature accents such as turquoise chairs. Due to the historic nature of the building, all the windows are particularly large and allow in plenty of natural light. The 206 rooms offer coffee and tea facilities, air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, soft bathrobes and a rainfall-style shower. There is also a small gym.

Breakfast is served buffet-style in the mornings, with the option to order à la carte hot dishes. Just off the lobby, you’ll also find the Tablafina wine and cheese bar, which offers a menu of fine wine, cheese and other tapas which you can enjoy while looking onto the Paseo del Prado.
