Housed in a grand 18th-century palace about 15 minutes’ walk from Seville’s cathedral, the Palacio Villapanés blends historical character with chic modern design. You can relax with a drink in the marble-arched central courtyard, or step out onto the large brick-laid patio dotted with fruit trees and couches.
The 50 bedrooms mirror the combination of tradition and modernity. Many have original wooden ceilings and doors, with modern artworks on the walls. Rooms also have a minibar with complimentary soft drinks, and an en suite bathroom with dark tiles and bright monochrome sinks.
A choice of buffet or à la carte breakfast is served in the white vaulted basement. You can order light drinks and snacks at the rooftop bar, right next to the plunge pool surrounded by Balinese loungers. The hotel also has a spa with sauna, hammam and treatment rooms.
The roof terrace and some rooms are accessed by a small number of steps, which could prove difficult for those with mobility issues.
We love the effortless style and sumptuous elegance of the Palacio Villapanés. Its rooms, public spaces and courtyards blend modern comfort with the history and character of the building, an 18th-century palace.
