This jeep tour will take you right off the beaten track, away from the circular road around the island and in among the valleys and up the mountain tracks. Traveling in the back of the jeep allows for uncompromised views across the island, especially when you climb high up the mountains to specific look-out points — a great opportunity to get a feel for the geographic lay of the land.
Your experienced and informative guide will introduce you to local fruit, vegetables and plants and you will have plenty of time to disembark from the jeep to walk among banana trees and pineapple plants. On return to base your guide will prepare a barbecue fish lunch in the traditional way using only local produce. The trip provides insight into many aspects of Rarotongan history and culture. Please note that the terrain can be quite bumpy and this tour is not recommended for anyone with limited agility.
