Overlooking the shimmering waters of Carbis Bay, this intimate, family-run hotel is tucked away but connected, just a short stroll down to a white-sand beach and within easy access of St Ives. You can take the 20-minute coastal walk or the seven-minute scenic train journey from Carbis Bay Station, which is just a three-minute stroll from the hotel.

With just over a dozen rooms, a restaurant, lounge, bar, treatment room, and outdoor terrace, every inch of this thoughtfully renovated 1930s hotel has been carefully curated to bring the Cornish coast in, with floor-to-ceiling windows, and whitewashed shutters and floorboards. The neutral palette and unfussy interiors let the sea and sky do the talking.

You can relax on the large, decked terrace, and let the local sparkling wine and breathtaking sea views all the way to the Godrevy lighthouse soothe your soul.

Inside, too, the hotel delivers a Cornish coastal punch, with original artwork by Cornwall-based artists, and seasonal local ingredients dished up in the restaurant, including a fresh daily catch. Even the spa offers a taste of Cornwall with products made with seaweed from the area. Cornish hospitality is also on the table — expect the friendliest service, attention to detail, and home comforts throughout, from Netflix to Nespresso machines.

Rooms

With dazzling white linen, wicker furniture, and a neutral palette of creams and beiges, rooms are light and airy with a relaxed Mediterranean style. Each is designed a little differently, some come with freestanding baths or walk-in rain showers, and most offer sweeping sea views. Feeling indulgent? Book the Celebration Suite with its sunken bath overlooking the sea, super king-size bed, and spacious shower room.

Set on a cliff above Carbis Bay, with sea and bay views, Boskerris Hotel is secluded but connected. It’s a five-minute drive, 20-minute coastal walk, or seven-minute train journey from the port town of St Ives with its thriving food scene, surfing beaches, and clutch of art galleries. From here, it’s easy to reach (and explore) Penzance too.
