Luwi Bushcamp consists of four individual thatch and reed huts set in a beautifully shady grove of trees on the banks off the Luwi sand river. The rooms are hand built each year after the rains and beautifully incorporated into the trees. Each has polished clay bedroom floors, which become made out of reed when you enter the wonderful open-air bathrooms — a stay here really makes you feel like you are in the heart of the bush.

The camp is very intimate and discreet, so small that you are practically in camp before you even see it! There's a large lawn, lovely hammock slung from a low slung branch and simple reed and thatch huts under the trees. Although the huts have WC and hot showers, the camp has purposefully been kept as simple as possible and to most, this is its greatest appeal. Guests eat under the trees by the small thatched bar, and in the evening a myriad of stars and the noises of the African night are your company around the campfire. Activities from Luwi focus on walking safaris. You'll set out each morning and evening with a guide and armed ranger. You might track elephant in the morning and learn about bird calls in the afternoon — there's always something to watch and learn about.
