Staying at Quartermain House B&B is, in some senses, rather like stepping back in time. This beautiful Victorian building has been meticulously restored to provide a comfortable home from home. While offering all modern conveniences, the property is furnished with charming period furniture. The owners pride themselves on providing a warm and friendly welcome.

Rooms

There are just two delightful guest rooms, the MacKay Master and the Quartermain Quarters. Both come with smart TV, coffee-maker, mini-fridge and complimentary Wi-Fi. Quartermain Quarters has an en suite bathroom, while MacKay Master has a private bathroom outside the room.

Location

Situated on Waterloo Row, in a district of historic Victorian homes, Quartermain House B&B is just a ten-minute walk from the picturesque heart of Fredericton, along the banks of the Saint John River.

Food and drink

Breakfast is a highlight of a stay and is served in the stately dining room. You can start by tucking into fresh fruit, yoghurt and granola, then move on to croissants and fruit loaf before the main cooked event — usually pancakes, omelettes, frittata or waffles. On the guest level of the B&B there is a refreshment area where freshly-baked treats and fruit are regularly replenished, along with a mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, and a water cooler.

Facilities and activities

Guests can relax in the parlour and, on clement days, enjoy the outside seating on the front porch or on the terrace in the back garden. The elegant library contains an eclectic and interesting collection of books to peruse, and is a lovely place to contemplate the views of the Saint John River and local walking trails.
